Catch reputation problems in AI answers before buyers believe them
Being cited is good. Being cited with the wrong price, outdated feature list or negative framing is not. CiteTrack stores the answers your tracked prompts return, watches them for drift, and flags when an engine starts saying something negative, materially different or likely wrong about your brand.
Review the answer change, its sources and the work it creates
Watch the product workflow, then inspect the current Reputation, Brand Voice and source-footprint screens.
AI can talk a buyer out of you before sales ever hears the objection.
This feature is for the founder, marketer or agency who needs to know when AI repeats a bad claim, frames the brand as risky, drops a citation, or changes the answer after a model/source update.
Find the risk
Negative sentiment, outdated claims, feature confusion, pricing errors and material rewrites are surfaced as dated events.
Keep the evidence
Previous answer, current answer, citation status, cited URLs and source context stay attached to the issue.
Compare with approved facts
Save the business statement, supporting URL, owner and review date that claim checks should use, then send a supported contradiction into Tasks.
A dated timeline of how AI describes you
Every citation run is compared to the last, so a quiet decline becomes an event with a date on it.
- May 28 · Gemini
Dropped from Cited to Absent on “best wordpress ai analytics plugin.” A competitor is cited instead.
- May 24 · ChatGPT
Sentiment turned negative on “is citetrack worth it.”
- May 21 · Perplexity
Answer rewritten, only 58% similar to the previous run.
- May 18 · Claude
Improved from Absent to Cited on “ai citation tracker.”
“CiteTrack AI is a budget option for WordPress… some users note it only supports a few engines and costs around $49/month…”
Claims compared with approved Business Facts
“Were you cited?” is only half the question
Most AI-visibility tools answer yes/no: did an engine cite you? Useful, but an AI answer is a paragraph of prose, and that paragraph is your brand's first impression for a growing share of buyers. It can praise you, damn you with faint praise, quote the wrong price, list a feature you don't have, or claim you were “discontinued.” And because models are refreshed constantly, that description changes underneath you with no warning. The answer monitor watches the words, not just the link.
Three things it catches
Citation & sentiment drift
Every run is compared to the last. A drop from cited to absent, or sentiment turning negative, is recorded on a timeline, so a quiet decline becomes a dated event you can act on.
Answer rewrites
When an engine substantially rewrites what it says about you, CiteTrack flags it. The narrative shifting is often the earliest signal that a model update changed how you are represented.
Claim contradictions
On demand, CiteTrack extracts claims from a saved answer and compares them with the approved Business Facts and supporting URLs you control. Unsupported or conflicting claims stay review items, not automatic truth verdicts.
How it works, without burning API credit
Drift detection reuses answers already captured during normal citation runs, so it can compare status, sentiment and text change without another answer check. The deeper claim review is opt-in: CiteTrack extracts statements from one saved answer, compares them with your approved Business Facts and supporting URLs, and preserves the exact answer and fact revision used. It does not ask a second model to declare truth from general knowledge.
Correct a supported contradiction without losing control
When a saved answer conflicts with an approved fact, the task keeps the prompt, AI service, previous and current answer, cited sources and fact revision together. For a compatible owned WordPress page, CiteTrack can propose a page-supported paragraph for review, require confirmation before applying it, preserve an exact Undo copy and verify the public page separately. A later answer change is measured as a new result, not claimed as proof that the edit caused it.
Turn surprises into alerts
Switch on notifications and CiteTrack emails you the moment a negative or critical change is detected, a lost citation, a sentiment flip, a false claim. Pair it with the alert engine and the narrative-control map to see not just that the story changed, but who's shaping it and where to push back.
An honest note on accuracy
AI engines are non-deterministic and personalize answers, so the monitor surfaces meaningful changes and likely problems, it isn't a courtroom transcript. It's the difference between finding out today that ChatGPT calls your product “discontinued,” versus finding out when a prospect mentions it on a sales call.
AI answer monitor FAQ
What is AI answer drift?
It is when the content of an AI engine answer about your brand changes over time, losing a citation, turning more negative, or being rewritten. Because models are updated continuously, your representation can shift without any change on your side. CiteTrack records these changes as a dated timeline.
How is this different from citation tracking?
Citation tracking answers "were you cited, and where." The answer monitor reads the actual prose, sentiment, claims and how it changes, so you catch a brand being mis-described even when the citation status looks fine.
Does it cost extra API usage?
Drift detection reuses answers captured during citation runs. An on-demand claim extraction can use the AI Assistant service you configured; the screen shows the action before it runs, and it is not an automatic background charge.
How does it detect a claim problem about my brand?
CiteTrack extracts statements from the saved answer and compares them with approved Business Facts and supporting URLs you maintain in Reputation. A mismatch becomes a review item with the exact answer, cited sources and fact revision; it is not presented as an automatic universal truth verdict.
What are Business Facts?
They are approved statements about your company, each with a supporting URL, owner, review date and revision history. They give claim reviews a controlled source of truth instead of relying on a second model's memory.
Can CiteTrack fix a contradiction on my website?
For a compatible owned WordPress page, a supported claim task can propose a factual paragraph for review. Applying it requires confirmation, keeps an exact Undo copy and verifies the public page separately. CiteTrack does not promise that the edit will change an AI answer.
Will it alert me automatically?
Yes, if you enable notifications. CiteTrack emails the site admin when a negative or critical change is detected (a dropped citation or negative-sentiment shift). Everything is also visible on the Reputation screen.
Where is all this stored?
Captured answers, drift events, claim audits and tasks live in your WordPress database. On-demand claim checks contact the AI provider you configure with your own key; CiteTrack does not host your reputation dashboard.
