“Answer drift” is when an engine’s answer about you changes a lot between runs. CiteTrack compares new vs previous and flags big changes.
Triage a drift event
- In Reputation → Recent changes, open the flagged prompt and engine.
- Read the current answer in Answers & accuracy. Look for wrong facts: outdated pricing, a feature called missing, “no longer available”, or a rival’s claim repeated as fact.
- Find the cited URLs the engine leaned on, usually what needs fixing.
Fix the source
If it is your page, correct it and apply Optimize fixes so the right answer is easy to lift. If it is a third-party page, update it or request a correction, engines echo what they read.
Turn on the “AI changed what it says about you” and “AI sentiment turned negative” alert rules so drift pings you automatically.
