Citation Tracking

Cited vs mentioned vs absent

  • Cited, your URL appears in the answer’s sources. The strongest result.
  • Mentioned, your brand or domain is named in the answer text but not linked as a source.
  • Absent, you do not appear at all for that prompt and engine.
If an engine API call fails, CiteTrack records the failure against the engine and does not write an “absent” row, so a network error never looks like a lost citation.
