Three practical worries worth answering plainly before you install.
Whether it slows your site
No. The two heavy jobs, citation runs and report building, happen in the background on WordPress’s scheduler, never during a visitor’s page load. Crawler logging adds a tiny, indexed database write when a verified AI bot requests a page, which is negligible and invisible to human visitors. Your front end stays as fast as it was.
Where your data lives
Operational data lives in your WordPress database: crawl logs, citation results, prompts, reports, tasks, storage status and settings. Citation queries go directly from your site to the AI provider you configured, and Google connections go to Google when you connect them. CiteTrack servers are used for license validation, update checks and plugin downloads, not for pooling your visibility data into a hosted dashboard.
What happens if your license lapses
Nothing disappears. Your data stays in your database and remains yours, and the free crawler logging keeps running. A lapsed license stops plugin updates and pauses the licensed features, citation tracking, attribution, alerts and AEO fixes, until you renew. Reactivate any time and your history is still there, right where you left it.
