Repair broken and redirected page links

Read the occurrence evidence

The task shows the linked words, nearest heading, number of matching occurrences and a bounded excerpt around the saved link. This helps you understand whether the link is navigation, evidence, a citation or a call to action before changing it.

Redirected link

When the old URL resolves through a verified same-site redirect to a direct working destination, the task shows the complete old and final URL. You can update only the matching saved anchor links and then verify the page.

Broken link

A broken URL is never presented as a verified destination. Choose a replacement only after confirming a relevant working page, or edit/remove the reference manually when that better matches the surrounding sentence.

Fragments and non-web schemes

Fragment-bearing links remain decisions because removing or changing the section anchor can change meaning. Non-web schemes such as about:, blob: and ftp: are not treated as same-site paths.
