Unverified responses
A timeout, rate limit, access-denied response or temporary 5xx result can prevent confirmation. CiteTrack labels it unverified instead of calling the link broken. Retry later or check the destination with the access context your visitors use.
Stale findings
A task can become stale when the page content, link occurrence or destination changes after the scan. Use the fresh check in the task. If the reported link no longer exists or now works, CiteTrack clears the task without editing the page.
Why evidence freshness matters
Safe updates recheck the signed preview, editor permission, page state, occurrence count and direct destination immediately before writing. This prevents an old scan from changing newly edited content.
