Why this is useful for AI-generated writing

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other language models frequently return Markdown because it expresses document structure without the clutter of HTML. The raw response is excellent for moving between tools, but it can be difficult to judge as a finished article. A live preview exposes broken heading levels, malformed tables, accidental code blocks, crowded lists and links that do not read naturally before you paste the article into WordPress.

The document panel also shows the first H1, heading outline, word count, reading time, links and images. These are practical editorial checks—not an invented “SEO score.” They help you confirm that the document has one clear subject, a scannable structure and the assets you expected.

Privacy and security

Parsing happens in your browser. The document is not submitted to WordPress or sent to an API. Browser autosave uses local storage on the device you are using and can be turned off; Clear removes both the editor content and the saved local copy. Raw HTML from pasted Markdown is displayed as text instead of being executed, which prevents pasted scripts from running inside the preview.

How do I preview a Markdown file online?

Open the .md file with the Open .md button or drag it onto the editor. The rendered Markdown appears immediately beside the source. The file is read locally in your browser and is not uploaded.

Can I paste Markdown from ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Paste the response into the editor and the preview updates as you type. This is useful for checking heading structure, lists, tables, links, code blocks and the overall article before moving it into WordPress.

Can I convert Markdown to HTML?

Yes. Copy HTML places the rendered fragment on your clipboard. Download HTML creates a standalone HTML document with readable styles, while Download .md preserves the original Markdown source.

How do I convert Markdown to PDF?

Choose Print / PDF. Your browser opens its print dialog with only the rendered document. Select Save as PDF as the destination. No server-side conversion or file upload is required.

Is my Markdown uploaded or stored?

It is never uploaded to CiteTrack AI. If browser autosave is enabled, a copy is stored only in this browser’s local storage so you can return to it. Turn autosave off or choose Clear to remove it.

Does the preview execute HTML or JavaScript from my Markdown?

No. Raw HTML is escaped and displayed as text. Links are limited to safe URL types, so pasted scripts and javascript URLs are not executed in the preview.
